MANA's Writing Contest: Commemorating The USA's 250th Birthday

The United States has celebrated its 250th Anniversary—a once-in-a-generation milestone in our nation's history. Now comes an equally important question: 

What does America mean today? 

Every American has a story, a perspective, or an experience that deserves to be heard. Whether your view is reflective, hopeful, doubtful, challenging, or deeply personal, your words can become part of this historic conversation.  

MarketingNewAuthors.com (MANA) invites writers from across the country to enter MANA's Commemorative Writers' Contest and share their unique voice. 

Choose One Writing Prompt

Write about one of the following themes: 

1) What does the word "American" mean to you?

OR

2) What makes being an American complex?

There are no right or wrong answers. We are looking for thoughtful, authentic, and original perspectives that encourage reflection and meaningful conversation.

Contest Categories

The contest welcomes submissions in three categories:

* Essays (no more than 500 words)

* Poems (no more than 300 words)

* Short Stories (no more than 500 words)

You may submit up to three (3) entries.

First Prize—$250

Second Prize—$200

Third Prize—$50
