Before Your Write-THINK!

Anyone who has ever written a book—or attempted to write a book but never finished—knows how difficult it is to write the first word. However, once you get started, the words will flow. But the question is: How do you get started?

The best way to get started is not writing, but thinking about writing. Writing your thoughts down will go a long way in helping you with the actual writing of your book. Here are 5 tips for you to think about to help you get started:

1. Think about what topics you know best. What’s your passion? Are you an expert in a specific niche? For example, if you are a master gardener, think about writing a “how to” book for the beginning gardener. Writing what you know isn’t difficult when you’re familiar with the subject.

2. Think about writing an outline for your book. Writing the outline before your actually write your manuscript helps you to plan and organize your content. It also helps you to streamline the writing process.
