RDP/MANA Owner Dr. Fairy Hayes-Scott to Present at College English Association Conference in New Orleans

Dr. Fairy C. Hayes-Scott, a professor of English Composition and Literature at Mott Community College in Flint, MI, will make a presentation at the College English Association's 50th Annual Conference in New Orleans. 

The conference will be held from March 28-30, 2019 at the Crowne Plaza New Orleans French Quarter. On March 28, Dr. Hayes-Scott will be a part of the program: "Attrition in Community College English Composition Courses: Online and On-Campus and Creative Writing Courses—Using Quantitative Predictors and Qualitative Methodologies."

The College English Association is a professional organization of scholar-teachers who teach undergraduate and graduate students. The conference will feature topics relating to vision and revision in texts, discipline, people, cultural studies, media, and pedagogy.

Dr. Hayes-Scott was named 2018 Influential Woman of the Year by the MCC Chapter of the American Association for Women in Comunity Colleges. She has written five books, including Bare Essentials: An English Handbook for Beginner Writers, 18th ed., and has a blog titled, "Dr. C's Writer Sunrise."

Dr. Hayes-Scott is the owner of Robbie Dean Press, a traditional publishing company, and its subsidiary, Additionally, she is a language and writing consultant who owns, "Dr. C Consultant Services."
