What's Your Excuse For Not Achieving Your Goal?

Do you have a dream or desire that you want to accomplish?

Do you want to write a book?

Travel to another country?

Go back to school to get a degree?

If so, how are you moving forward to accomplish your goal?

Achieving a goal takes a lot of planning and hard work. However, the hardest thing you may have to do is to change your way of thinking. If you do not have a winning mindset, if all you’re use to is failure, it may take you longer to see your dream come true.

Your current mindset plays a very big role in the direction you take and whether you succeed or fail.

So, you have to ask yourself: "Am I really ready to do whatever it takes to see my desires become reality? Or am I going to make excuses to stop my progress?"

What’s Your Excuse?

It’s a lot easier to come up with an excuse instead of pushing forward to get things done. Do any of these excuses sound familiar to you?:

• “I don’t have the money to launch something new.”
• “I can’t give up a regular paycheck.”
• "I tried this before and failed.”
• “I’m not smart enough.”
• “My family and friends won’t understand what I’m doing.”
• “I can’t do that.”
• “I’m too young.”

These excuses—and well as others you may come up with—place the blame on someone or something else other than yourself so that you do not feel bad about taking action.

Excuses give you a reason to put up a roadblock in your mind that keeps you from taking action.

Remember that what you say to yourself is simply a manifestation of your belief system. If you continue in your old way of thinking, you will produce the same old results.

So, are you ready to change?

Acknowledgement Precedes Change

Before you can make a change, you must acknowledge the need to change.

You may need to talk to a loved one, call a close friend, a personal development coach, or a professional counselor to help you with this task.

It is only when you realize that changing your mindset helps you to move forward will you begin to look for new ways to figure out how to think, feel, and act in a different way.

Only then will you stop looking for excuses that do nothing more than set up roadblocks in the middle of your path to achieving your goal.
